Overview

Mixels sells pixel-styled collectible figures of music, football and film icons, from Umm Kulthum and Abdel Halim Hafez to Mohamed Salah and Messi. The storefront is built for collectors and fans who want each figure presented as an art piece with its story.

The Challenge

A small physical product has to carry the weight of a cultural icon on a screen, and still sell like a store.

01

Figures span three worlds (music, football, film) and eras from the 1900s to today, from Umm Kulthum to Marwan Pablo, so the catalog needs a clear way in.

02

A flat product photo undersells a sculpted collectible; buyers need to see form and scale.

03

Each figure only makes sense with context: who the person is, where they're from, and why they matter.

Our Approach

Treat each figure as an exhibit with a caption, and keep buying one tap away.

01

Three-category catalog

Figures are grouped as music, football and film, so fans enter through the world they already care about instead of scrolling one long list.

02

3D and AR viewing

Products load GLB/USDZ models on demand and launch mobile AR through model-viewer, so buyers can rotate a figure or place it in their room; models load only when needed to keep pages light.

03

Headless Shopify cart

A custom front end sits on the Shopify Storefront API with a slide-out cart drawer, so the store keeps its own look while orders, prices and inventory stay in Shopify.

“The hard part was keeping 3D models fast: every figure needed to turn smoothly on a phone without slowing the store down.”
